Always
ride safe
How someone
rides when they are alone is their business. However any member riding
unsafely as part of the group, or is reported to have been riding
unsafely while riding alone, but wearing the wings, will be counseled
about their riding style. Any member who has previously been counseled
twice regarding unsafe riding may be immediately removed from the roster
upon the third occurrence at the discretion of the First Officer with
recommendation from the Second Officer.
"Look ma no hands" is NOT riding safe... Riding under the influence is
NOT riding safe... Excessive speed is NOT riding safe.

Don't Give
The Club A Bad Name
Whenever you are wearing the wings, whether solo or participating in a
club function, you are representing the Gateway Southern Cruisers and
the Southern Cruisers Riding Club.
Involvement in any illegal activity or inappropriate and/or offensive
language or behavior (whether participating in a club function or
wearing the wings solo) may cause the member to be immediately removed
from the roster at the discretion of the First Officer with
recommendation from the Second Officer.
See the section above about riding safe. How the non-riding public
perceives us is a direct result of how they see us ride. Riding stupid
will definitely give us a bad name... and will therefore get you removed
form the roster.

Be Active
New members are expected to show their interest in the club by
attending at least one function (ride, meeting, or other club
activity) within 30 days of joining. Participation in the on-line
forums does not constitute being active for new (under 30 days) members.
A new member who is unable to comply with this requirement should
contact the First Officer or Second Officer to discuss the situation and
make alternate participation arrangements. New members failing to meet
this requirement may be removed from the roster at the discretion of the
First Officer with recommendation from the Second Officer.
Standing members are expected to participate in club functions
at least once in every 90 days. We believe that if you are going to
belong to the Gateway Southern Cruisers, you should participate in
keeping it going. In the event a member is unable to fulfill this
requirement, the member must contact the First Officer or Second Officer
to notify them of the reason. Failure to do so
without contacting the First Officer, or Second Officer, may result in removal
from the roster at the discretion of the First Officer with recommendation from
the Second Officer. Depending on the circumstances, and at the
discretion of the First Officer with recommendation from the Second
Officer, participation in the on-line forums may be accepted in
lieu of physical participation in functions for a short period of time.

Show pride in
your club
The constitution of the national club does not
require that general members purchase/wear the club patch. However,
we of the Gateway Southern Cruisers, believe that if you are going to
belong to the club, you should be willing to wear the club patch. Therefore,
we request that members purchase the "the wings" and wear them proudly at
all club functions. Our National Club Patch is
available for purchase through the on-line store (the only authorized supplier
of SCRC gear) for those who choose
to show their support of the club by wearing it. The chapter patch is
available from the First Officer or Second Officer.

The Club Patch
The club back patch may be referred to as "The Wings"... but NOT
as "colors". The patch is available through the
on-line store.
The Wings (if a member chooses to wear them) should be worn on the center or upper half of a vest or jacket
and will not be worn on any denim vest (or denim jacket with the sleeves cut
off).
The chapter patch, (if a member chooses to wear it) is only to be worn
on the front of a vest or jacket. The preferred location is on the upper
right. The First Officer or Second Officer will provide new members with
their chapter patch.
